Most Common Condition of January – Sinus Infection

Spread the love

I saw my doctor today for my annual blood workup and physical and she mentioned to me that she has been very busy. There were a handful of COVID cases, a few flu cases, some RSV (respiratory virus) but mostly sinus infections.

She is cautious about prescribing antibiotics, asking her patients to wait until the discharge from the nasal passages is yellow/green.
What Chiropractic Can Do

An adjustment can open up the nasal passages, relieving pressure, and also stimulate the immune system to fight the infection more effectively.

The vertebra associated with sinuses is the second one down, C2, or the second cervical vertebra.

When my daughter was younger, she would get sinuses blockages and, since I taught her about the connection between the spine and her sinuses, she used to say to me, “Daddy, you have to fix my “nosal” bone!”

By the way, antibiotics can not cure a sinus infection because it is viral, so the immune system has the responsibility of doing the job. (Antibiotics are prescribed for any secondary bacterial infection.) And now we’re back to Chiropractic improving the immune system!

As I like to start the New Year with an evaluation of my health, I encourage you to do the same, not only with your medical doctor but with me as well, so we can determine how your spine and nervous system are functioning, especially if you haven’t been treated in a while.
