My son, Brandon, a high school biology teacher and lacrosse coach, recommended that I take this video course.

I pass it on to you because I think that it is quite valuable to everyone, not just parents and coaches of youth athletes.

Concussions have been brought to the forefront of the news by their increasing numbers in the NFL and their long term consequences, often devastating.

A concussion, or traumatic brain injury (TBI), can also occur in non-sport related injuries. Falls, the leading cause of ER visits, and motor vehicle accidents, the second, can cause concussions, spinal misalignments and their most frequent side effect…headaches.

As a Certified Sports Physician, I am well prepared to handle the assessment and treatment of sports and non-sports related injuries.

The assessment is called the SCAT 2 (Sports Concussion Assessment Tool) and will lead to a diagnosis and possible further testing.

Treatment includes spinal manipulation, therapy, stretching, exercises and a 5-step rehabilitation process so the athlete can return to his/her sport or the injured person can return back to work and/or normal lifestyle.
