Neck pain? Don’t hunch your shoulders! “Baby, it’s cold outside!”

Spread the love

One answer to neck pain – don’t hunch your shoulders!

When it’s cold, we instinctively hunch our shoulders to try to stay warm.

 In fact, the opposite happens.

Hunching the shoulders causes continuous tensing of the muscles which actually slows circulation.

It’s like standing on a garden hose…you reduce the blood flow to your neck and hands.

We go inside and forget that our shoulders are still hunched!

Then we wonder why we have neck pain, headaches, tension and cold hands, not to mention numbness and tingling.

Solution:

  • During the day, check to see where your shoulders are and make sure they are relaxed.
  • Wear a scarf outdoors
  • Make an appointment to take care of the muscle spasms and the misalignments and pinched nerves that follow as a result. I will also show you some quick and effective stretches as well as ways to strengthen your neck and upper back.
