Flu Season – What to do to Prevent
The Center for Disease Control (CDC) has stated that, so far, flu activity in New York is “sporadic.”
Here are some tips that can help keep it away or even minimize the effects.
- The old standby….wash your hands frequently!
- Get extra sleep. That’s what DVRs are for!
- Eat simply. Soups are great, as is fruit, yogurt. Try not to eat too much fast food or sweets, at least for the next two months!
- Exercise has been proven to help your immune system. Just a few minutes per day. Walk, climb stairs, do jumping jacks, just don’t sit all day!
- Try to manage stress. There are important stresses and unimportant stresses. When you find yourselves stressed, ask yourself if the stress is worth getting sick over!
- Get adjusted!! In their book, “Beyond Antibiotics,” medical doctors Keith Sehnert and Lendon Smith found that “manipulation can cause the immune system to function at a higher level.” Regular adjustments can make that happen. Just ask my kids!
